History

James Eischen, Esq (Jim Eischen) is a licensed California attorney with over 32 years of experience handling complex corporate, business planning, and real estate matters. He received his J.D. from the University of California at Davis in 1987, and his B.A. from Creighton University in 1984.

Mr. Eischen is recognized nationally for compliance experience regarding complex corporate business planning and transactions. As a speaker at conferences throughout the US, he addresses data privacy, regulatory business planning problem-solving, and start-up innovation monetization.

Mr. Eischen’s broad complex business planning experience includes life science/start-up enterprise regulatory support and structuring corporate practice of medicine business modeling. He advises business enterprises in matters connected to reimbursement, contracts, interdisciplinary employment and labor issues, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.

Jim Eischen

Mr. Eischen was previously the head of a healthcare regulatory transaction group at a respected national law firm’s Irvine office, and prior to that, a member of the corporate, healthcare and real estate departments of a prominent San Diego law firm. In 2018 Mr. Eischen was asked to speak at a CMA conference for general counsel of various US state medical boards/societies on private medicine compliance. In February 2019 Mr. Eischen resumed his high-end boutique business planning law practice in San Diego to achieve the flexibility that self-employment affords.

Mr. Eischen actively paticipates in leadership roles with the San Diego County Bar Association/SDCBA. He chairs the SDCBA Law & Medicine Section, and helps assemble and deliver educational content for that section as well as the SDCBA Attorney Wellness Subcomittee. He graduated from the inagural SDCBA Leadership Academy in 2022, and currrently serves on that academy’s committee.

Having grown up and lived in San Diego for nearly all of his life, Mr. Eischen is actively involved in the local community. He was the founding attorney coach for the Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) high school mock trial team, and he helped that team win two (2) San Diego County Championships and proceed to state finals. He is a professional and volunteer musician and provides musical support for a Kundalini Yoga studio in Point Loma, California. Mr. Eischen remains an avid surfer, stand-up paddler, boater, and motorcycle/bicycle enthusiast.
